Kabul police chief's office manager, Colonel Mohammad Yasin Khan, was killed in a blast inside the Kabul police headquarter Sunday morning, a police official told TOLOnews on condition of anonymity.
The blast took place on the third floor of the police headquarters. The type of explosion used is still unclear.
Kabul Police Chief Gen. Zahir Zahir, while confirming the incident, said the primary investigation reports that the bomber was dressed in military attire, which allowed the attacker to carry the explosives inside.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, one person was killed and eight others wounded have been transferred to a hospital.
The blast comes after an earlier roadside mine detonated on the second street of Shahshahed area of Kabul's eighth zone near Afghan National Army (ANA) vehicles on Sunday morning, Kabul police said.
According to Kabul Criminal Investigation Police Chief, Mohammad Farid Afzali, around 7 a.m. local time while ANA vehicles were passing the area a roadside mine detonated near their vehicles.
Afzali added there were no civilian or military casualties.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for both attacks.
